'Arasu' - For Tamil New Year

Presenting is R.B Chowdary's Super Good Films, under the banner of J.J Good films, Babu Raja is producing the much awaited 'Arasu' starring Sarathkumar R. in double roles. Pairing with him are Simran and Roja. The other co artistes are Sahith Khan, Tar John, Sai Kumar, Murali, Bhanu Chander, Delhi Ganesh, Manivannan, Sudha, Baby Gayathri, Riyas Khan etc. Kiran is doing a guest role. One such scene was shot in Mohan Studio in a grand manner. Music is by Mani Sharma. It is expected to be released on Tamil new year - Dinamalar, 07-03-2003.

May his soul rest in peace

Though life is a gift from God, death is also a blessing when it happens at the right age and at theright time. An actor and a senior artiste, V.K. Ramaswamy swept our hearts away with his great sense of humour and attitude. Though he left us on December 24th 2002, at the age of 77 still he continues to live with us through his films. The entire cinema industry paid tribute to the renowned actor at the funeral held on 26th December 2002. May his soul rest in peace.

Diwali this year

The formalities will be observed. But this time there is a heaviness in my heart. The Cauvery issue, the suffering of farmers, Maran's bad health - there won't be much jubilation this year. May be next Diwali will be brighter.

It was R. Sarathkumar M.P.'s birthday yesterday on June 14th. So to start a new year he went to the temple at Adayar and had a prayer. His wife Radhika also accompanied him. After returning from the temple he met his fans and his party members and supplied the sarathkumar press releases m sweets. Later he and his wife met Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi, got his blessings and felicitated him. Kalaignar Karunanidhi also presented the M.P. with a book called "Kamarajar Malar". Actress Manorama was rewarded the Padmashri award. To congratulate her, the whole cine industry had arranged for a function in Raja Annamalaipuram, Chennai. Some actors sang the song, while many actresses danced for the movies in which Manorama starred. At the end of the show, when Manorama came to the dais actor Kamal Hassan and actor Sarathkumar R. honoured her putting a garland of her height. Actress Kovai Sarala presented the function, while actor Sarathkumar .R, actress Radhika and Sripriya organized it.

It starred Suresh Gopi, Dileep and Lal , it was later re-made in Telugu as Hanumaan Junction starring Arjun and Jagapathy Babu which also proved to be a meg-hit. Now the same directors Rafi-MeCartin weave their magic once again in Tamil with the same name Thenkasipattanam. The movie Samuthiram is a story, which emphasizes sibling bonding. Murali and Manoj and me play the role of closely-knit brothers who would sacrifice anything for our sister Kaveri, the apple of our eye. The story strongly depicts the love between the brothers and their sister. At last the sister is driven to a situation between her brothers or her husband. Beautifully directed by K.S.Ravikumar, it is a complete family oriented film.
